Daniel Longo is a budding Toronto-based colorblind artist who is deeply passionate about his craft. Heavily influenced by pop culture and neo-expressionism, his works are characterized by intense colors, striking beauty, and a unique perspective that leaves audiences in awe of his talent.
Despite being colorblind, Daniel’s graphic compositions, alluring themes, distinct knack for creating uncommon depictions of everyday objects, and extreme attention to detail position him as one of the most promising colorblind artists to watch in the coming years.
His gallery features a stunning collection of striking artworks, such as his Mr. Velvet series—which explores the daily life of a gentleman pirate—and its counterpart series, Mrs. Velvet, an evolving body of work built around repetitions of the whimsical Mr. Velvet symbol. Throughout these portraits, Daniel seamlessly incorporates intricate geometric patterns.

Other pieces in his collection draw inspiration from pop culture and his desire to explore nature, conceptualizing how it finds expression in our daily lives. Daniel Longo has truly mastered the art of conveying creative ideas through a modern lens.
Even more impressive is Daniel’s seasoned background. A professional snowboarder since age 18, he’s no stranger to competition or teamwork. In 2010, he took part in a snowboarding competition sponsored by Solomon, Red Bull and Electric, winning the Premiers Award for ‘Athlete of the Year’ in British Columbia, Canada, and was ranked in the top 20 as a world-class snowboarder, where he went on to represent his country on the Canadian National Snowboard Development Team—an experience he describes as a true privilege.
Having competed against top snowboarders globally, Daniel has participated in World Cups and US Open events across Canada, the USA, France, New Zealand, and South Korea. His exposure and travels as a young athlete continue to serve as a rich source of inspiration for his artistic endeavors.
Through these athletic competitions, Daniel learned to stay true to himself, further exploring his creative talents by designing t-shirts under his colorblind label, which were sold in boutiques throughout Toronto. His most recent apparel collection features limited-edition, hand-painted garments—extending his canvas to jean jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts, shoes, and bags.
Adding to his background, Daniel went on to take classes at the Art Gallery of Ontario, as well as sketching and graffiti workshops in Toronto and Los Angeles. Today, his larger canvas pieces are displayed in condominium sales offices, bespoke ateliers, and private collection archives across Toronto and Los Angeles.
Daniel Longo exhibits his work across Canada and the United States, with pieces held in private collections nationwide. His latest creations can be viewed on Instagram @artistdanielll or via his website www.colorblind.gallery.com.
